Dennis Cousins
Cornish-born James Dennis, an Inspector of Schools for NSW, believed in the 'Cousin Jack' mentality of Cornwall. He always made an effort to keep in touch with family members. (See Ch 15 of 'From Buryan to Bondi'.) His Australian granddaughters Leith, Mary and Julia, have kept the tradition going. Here are those cousins, in their late 80s, celebrating the start of 2012 on the front verandah at 'Daisy Hill', Rothbury. It's a pity the photo wasn't taken when the champagne glasses were being clinked! Photos of Leith, Mary and Julia in their younger days appear on pages 254, 247 and 280 (respectively) of 'From Buryan to Bondi'.
